Hey There!

My name is Dakota McGovern, and I’m a lifelong activist with over nine years of community leadership experience. My work has focused on three key themes: environmental activism, education advocacy, and social justice.

With a track record of success in charities, not-for-profits, social enterprises, and grassroots organizations, my expertise includes fundraising, communications, development, strategy, marketing, and outreach.

Over the years, I’ve noticed recurring challenges in activism and the not-for-profit sector, such as the difficulty of turning ideals into real, lasting change. This site focuses on practical, modern approaches to community organizing in the 21st century.

After two years of blogging, I have written about radicalism, ego, AI, and history, among other topics. I also organize a regular webinar series for community leadership strategy, with no topic off limits covering nonprofit fundraising to alternative economics

Ultimately, this website is a space to reflect on what makes activism work beyond the public and private sectors.
